The “meat” of the code revolves around the Update and Draw methods, which form the basis for the game loop in a MonoGame game. Modern games such as Skulls of the Shogun, Bastion, and Towerfall were all built with MonoGame. As of January 2013, Microsoft no longer is developing XNA, but the MonoGame community is continuing to grow. MonoGame is an open-source implementation of Microsoft’s XNA framework.
